Barcelona vs Estudiantes HIGHLIGHTS Video Goals

Barcelona secured a record sixth piece of silverware this season with a 2-1 extra-time victory over Estudiantes de La Plata in the Club World Cup in Abu Dhabi.

Striker Mauro Boselli had put the Libertadores Cup holders ahead in the 37th minute.

Pedro Rodriguez equalised in the 89th. Pedro looped a header over Damian Albil to force extra time. High quality goal!

Then Lionel Messi putted the final goal by chesting the ball past Albil for the winner in the 110 minute. Messi struck with 10 minutes remaining in extra time to hand the European champions the world crown for the first time.

Under Pep Guardiola, the debonair novice who took over at the Nou Camp from Frank Rijkaard just 18 months ago, Barcelona have swept all before them. This Barcelona team will be remembered by history as the team which breathed new life into a game asphyxiated by its own tactical perfectionism, the side who conquered athleticism with aestheticism.

Congratulations FC Barcelona, 2009 Club World Cup Champion!!!
